Got back from our brief trip to St. Louis tonight. It was a very nice visit; we went to the zoo and saw puffins (SO's favorite), the art museum for a preview tour (with the curator!) of an exhibition on Federico Barocci (a late Renaissance/early Baroque artist), and the symphony (a concert with mostly Vivaldi, and lots of bassoons). Once again I am very late with last week's CSA: arugula, kale, savoy cabbage (I think), a bunch of radishes, 10 squash blossoms, 7 small onions, and about 2.5 lb. of peaches.

Gah. It's Friday, and I realize I never put up last week's CSA and menus. I spent pretty much all of three work days doing FEMA emergency/disaster training, and when I was home did a lot of cleaning for my MIL's visit (she arrived yesterday, will be here till Sunday afternoon).

My dad is spontaneously coming to visit - he lives about 8 hours' drive away, and will come tomorrow, leave Wednesday morning (he knows I have to work Tuesday though). Wow.

We are therefore going to leave the tree up at least until he has left...

It was a good (albeit strenuous) long weekend. ( Family visit and painting - long )

Half-day at work is done (slow day, too) and I'm off home to do some laundry and pack up. Have to get up at 3:30 am tomorrow to catch the plane. Yikes. Definitely getting all packing done tonight; hope SO also manages that.
